Marketing Firms Eager to Recruit College Grads

Emarketer.com reports that college grads are in hot demand by the marketing departments of Fortune 500 companies.

A whopping 80% of firms in the Southern U.S. indicated that they plan on hiring more marketing staff this year. Figures were lower but still strong in the rest of the country. 50% of companies in the East said they would hire this year, whereas 51% of Midwest companies and 59% of Western companies said they would be hiring.

52% of employers said they would be hiring for Internet marketing and 42% for brand marketing. Other specialties where employer interest is high are market research, advertising, direct mail campaigns, and public relations.
