High Tech Pros Command Record-Setting Pay
The Yoh Index of Technology Wages found that the hourly pay for high tech professionals hit a record high in late 2005 –
and that job and salary prospects look bright for 2006 as well.
The average pay for high tech professionals rose to $30.27 per hour during the period between mid-October and mid-November of 2005, according to
a PC Magazine report on the Yoh Index findings. That figure represents an almost 11 per cent increase from the same period in 2001.
Average hourly pay rates rose well above the $30.27 figure for personnel whose skills are in especially high demand. According to the Yoh Index, the professionals most sought after by high tech employers, and the average hourly pay being offered to them, in late 2005 were:
- Clinical Research Associate ($38.52)
- Data Manager ($45.06)
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Project Manager ($62.01)
- Data Warehouse Architect ($69.03)
- Hardware and Firmware Engineers ($59.34)
- .NET Developer ($45.77)
- Oracle Database Administrator ($55.82)
- Project Manager ($57.07)
- SAP Functional Consultant ($75.09)
- Senior Scientist ($43.76)
